Cajun Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups meat stock (beef, poultry, pork)
  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 cups chili sauce
  • 1 cup honey
  • 3/4 cups dry roasted pecans, chopped
  • 5 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/2 orange, rind and pulp
  • 1/4 lemon, rind and pulp
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons white pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cayenne

Directions:

Combine black and white pepper, onion and garlic powder, salt and cayenne in a small bowl. Set aside. Fry bacon in a large sauce pan until crisp. Remove bacon and crumble. Add onions to bacon fat and cook until brown. Add spice mixture and stir. Add stock, chili sauce, honey, pecans and orange juice, bacon, garlic, Tabasco and lemon and orange rinds and pulp. Reduce heat and stir. Continue cooking over a low simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove orange and lemon rinds and continue cooking for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally. Ad butter and stir in until melted. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Pour sauce into a food processor or blender and mix until smooth.

Black Jack Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • 1 cup strong black coffee
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup hot chili peppers, minced
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and simmer for about half an hour. Let cool. Pour into a blender and puree until smooth. Store in a glass container in the refrigerator.

Chipotle Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cans chipotle chilies (smoked jalapeños), chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add onions and garlic. Sauté until soft. Stir in brown sugar, celery salt and black pepper. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until the sauce thickens.


Apple Barbecue Sauce Recipe

A delicious apple-flavored barbecue sauce. This sauce would work great with
pork ribs or with chicken.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup apple, peeled and grated
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup onion, grated
  • 2 teaspoons bell pepper, grated
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon white pepper

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer 15 minutes.

Texas-Style Barbecue Sauce Recipe


Ingredients:
  • 4 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup Coca Cola
  • 1 tablespoon dehydrated onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic clove
  • Dash cayenne pepper
Directions:

In a sauce pan, mix ingredients in order listed. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve over grilled chicken, beef, pork or hot dogs.


Jack Daniel's Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Jack Daniel's Whiskey
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Directions:

Sauté onion and garlic in oil until tender. Add other ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Great on beef ribs.

Carolina Style Barbecue Sauce Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup prepared yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
Directions:

Mix all except soy, butter and smoke. Simmer 30 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 more minutes.
